Silly Chinese Zodiac Animals by chiri-chan Silly Chinese Zodiac Animals by chiri-chan
Edit: O_o Why do people keep requesting prints for this? o'_'o Oh fine. Prints enabled. *sweatdrop*

PFFT. I started doodling the rooster and the idea to make Zodiac stickers popped into my head. They were pretty easy to do, and I really enjoyed drawing the dog. My mother peered over my should while I was drawing it and went "WTF is that?" >_>'' Maybe it's the eyes. They're all so vacant.

I did add in dots for eyeballs. Then I proceeded to sit there and laugh for a good 5 minutes before erasing them. The animals went from looking silly to looking retarded.

But I probably didn't get enough time to do them fairly well, so the coloring looks a bit rushed.

The writing is all my mother's though. She has very lovely calligraphy and I wanted her to write them down for me. :3 Then it took me eons to get the words to look right on photoshop...x_x'' Oddly enough, when I was selling them, the dragon stickers disappeared really quickly. Then the Rooster and the Tiger. *sweatdrop*

So yes. Chinese Zodiac Animals in order. Starting up to down, left to right. So Rat first, then Ox, etc etc etc.

:3 What Zodiac animal are you?

(And as DL107 pointed out, yes, I purposely colored the Horse like Epona from Ocarina of Time.)

My zodiac sign is that of the roosters. I'm way loud and obnoxious, but I have a heart of gold and I'm honest to the point of being blunt. :D Or so I've been told.

>_>'' For some strange reason, most of my dragons look happy. *sweatdrop* At least they look cuter when they're super deformed.

:3 Oooh! I'm also from the year of the tiger. :3 Born 1986?

There's nothing really wrong with happy dragons until you want to draw an intimidating one looming over a hero or something.

Then it's like the dragon is going "Why HAI THAR! >:3 It's nom nom time!" And I can't take the drawing very seriously after that.

Heh ^^ That's true @.@

I have that problem too -- apparently I am unable to not draw cute even though I try. Even the most gruesome creation I can conjure up it meet with a chorus of: "awwwwwww!"

We shall have to keep trying though.

Everyone needs to work on some area of their art. Artistry is after all a state of constant development, as frustrating as that can sometimes be....

Well, I wouldn't hug a zombie >.<

Heh, cool. The mouse looks cute. I think I like the horse, the rooster, and the tiger the best. The dragon looks awesome too, but I think the linework could be darkened up a bit.

Your mom sounds pretty funny, yet cool at the same time.

I'm pretty sure I'm the ox. 1985.

X3 Out of all the asian parents I know, she's probably the most lenient one out of all of them. She let me go to Ohio by myself to meet my pen pal..:3

She's occasionally a pain, but I love her anyway.

The linework for the dragon and all the others was originally black because I scanned the pictures in and pulled the lines off of the white. The thing is, I colored on the lines, so they're all different colors.

Unfortunately, I was doodling for nearly 24 hours without any sleep whatsoever. So about halfway through, I was already loopy and not thinking right. Looking at it, the lines look kinda funny. D; ...Ah well.

Ah, yeah, I think it's easier to just take the line work out like you said in the other comment and then work behind it in color in another layer. I think that's how they color for comics, actually...

Wow, Ohio? I don't think I would have ever gone on a plane alone as a kid. I probably wouldn't even do it today, lol. It frightens me... but that's pretty cool that your mother thought you were mature enough for a trip like that. ^^

Aw so sweet :) I went for a fair portion of my life thinking I was a dragon (you know how when they print things like that in magazines they just have the years=animal) but then I realized the chinese year isn't the same as ours. So yes, I'm a rabbit. I wanna be a dragon! :P

It gets confusing with Chinese New Year because it starts sometime between February - April (It varies differently every year because of the lunar calendar.) . So occasionally you could be born in 1986, and be in the year of the Ox if you were born in January instead of being in the year of the Tiger. It still takes some getting used to..x_X'
